Whimzi Releases 5 Track EP Positonica

An artist rooted in music production, building herself a brand that cannot go unnoticed. Whimzi planted herself into music as early as 2017, producing music influenced by house and dubstep/bass genres. Since then she has established herself as a talented vocalist, at the front of a band, performing live as apart of Chicago’s night life and music industry. A unique addition with her style, character and sound.

“Fantasy turned into reality”
– Whimzi

Whimzi’s sound really picks her out from the crowd, creating a much more matured sound distinctive to her, compared to when she originally started. A seasoned producer, turning electronic dance and bass into an alt pop electronica fusion that can resemble artists like Nero, but is expressly Whimzi. Her latest release Positonica, a 5 track EP, gives you the perfect listening experience to get aquainted with her signature sound. The first release of the year and it is filled with hits.

Positonica starts out hot with Ecstacy. The low tempo pounding beat paired with a bassline. Whimzi creates a rhythm with her vocal work and lyrics, riding the low end. Changing it up with a vocal melodic chorus in between verses, this opening track sets the bar for the the rest of the LP. Listening the whole way through, you will realize there not a beat that misses, and it is all produced, recorded and written by Whimzi herself.

The following track Romantic Violence, is not a red flag once you hear it, because it will get a dance floor bumpin and grindin. The energy is still there, just a different pace. Kid Juli is featured on the track, and in the music video on Youtube, adding that seductive back n forth, femine masculine energy you did not know you needed.

Whimzi follows up with another collaboration featuring JunoTheYungJedi. The mid point of Positonica and the energy has not slowed down, and neither has the quality of production. More hip hop inspired within the beat work, without sacrificing that electronic influence either. The two compliment each other well. The EP even ends on a high n wild note with an acid house vibe that you get expect from Infected Mushroom. Whimzi is ahead of herself with talent and it is only a matter a time till fortune catches up with her, and her music fills up ballrooms with dance music junkies.
