Richy Warbucks Pushes Through The Gray Area

Another great artist in Chicagos pool of talent, Richy Warbucks has been rockin the mic and blessing hip hop fans with music for a half decade and some change. Over a dozen singles, a couple of EP’s and Albums backing him up, Warbucks put in some good work and it shows, consistently releasing hits. With the confidence of a boss, literally as CEO of Black Labyrinth Records, he is poised to make big moves!

“On my mark, hope you gettin’ ready, said I’m ’bout to go”

Adding onto his work, Richy also doubles down and releases a music video with his latest release. In what looks like to be a new era incoming, as his instagram page refreshed to soley promote this track. It may just as well be a solid advertising plan, but it certainly does mark a change and quality from the marketing gameplan, the visual and audio quality and production overall! Warbucks certainly knows what he is doing and he is doing it good with the release of his latest hit single The Grey Area.

The title suggest a common battle we all face as we grow with wisdom in our age! The Grey Area, difference between right and wrong, the exception to the rule, the new paradigm. Richy Warbucks lyrics however would suggest other wise, as he speaks of a dark place within his mind, and within himself. As mens mental health awareness month pulled up as well, however that is either coincidence or perfect planning.

The beat chimes in, leading the video, as the visuals come into play. Richy Warbucks faces the camera, looking up as disbelief and stress is written all over his eyes and body language. The track title spreads across the screen and Warbucks stands to present. His verses drop in and does not stop as he moves in frustration, narrating how deeply he feels about his lyrics and his pain.

The Grey Area is filled with lyrics of scenarios and ideas that may conjure stress and anxiety in a mans mind. His chorus underlines the battle in his mind. “They told me Ima be alright. Must’ve been a joke cause I don’t feel alright. Lungs filled up with smoke cause I’m not healin right.

One specifically may highlight the cause of this. “Losing everybody how the fuck am I supposed to be okay, why he take you from me, why the fuck he aint take me away. Hopefully we meet again, I cant wait to see the day…” Confirming by the end of the video as the project is dedicated to Tina Worship who passed in 2009, and now lives on throw Richy Warbucks memory and art.
