Proppa’s Vicious Debut With A Namesake Beat
Chicago House DJ and producer Proppa is one to keep an eye on, moving forward. His talent and dedication to his music has been getting him well deserved recognition within the industry. Forging his production skill for a handful of years, he has even shared his knowledge, training others on sound design. Meanwhile his own music has been reaching stages and cities he has yet to take over, and he is soon to follow!
“Givin’ up is not an option”
– Proppa
Known for multiple residencies in Chicago, Proppa has been moving up the ladder as of late. Releasing music as early as 2017 according to his music media, you will notice from listening that he has always had an ear for good music. Remixing artists like 21 Savage, Santana, Los Del Rio, Jennifer Lopez, Glass Animals and more. His playlist spans mulitple genres, across different timelines, and that is one key to his current value.
Recently Proppa has been putting his head down and working hard in the studio, day and night. Making a whole 180 from where he was last year, as he would mention on his social media. From one of his lowest points mentally, to releasing a banging original track on one of house musics most critically acclaimed labels, to end out the summer of 2022. Proppa is a prime example for artists to keep persevering, and he is just getting started!
Earlier in the year Proppa has made a declaration to release remixes every two weeks until he was signed to a label, and he manifested words and action to reality. Remixing artists such as Bijou, Bananarama, Chris Brown & Busta Rhymes, Cassie, Ginuwine, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Nate Dogg, LMFAO, Lil Wayne and more! His Missy Elliot remix actually got to see mainstage festival treatment with support by Ape Rave Club, before Missy Elliots PR themselves, for better or for worse, got involved with a cease & desist. Talk about recognition. Finally Vicious Recordings caught wave of Proppa and his success and brought him on board! Leading to a self titled label debut, It’s Proppa, with vocals by the man himself, with some lyrics properly worded, “Givin’ up is not an option.” If that is not motivation to move your ass, whether it it is the dance floor or for the hustle, then your mind aint Proppa!
