Khid Nando Is Just Khilling Some Time

A young artist, filled with ambition, Khid Nando pops into the music industry and is working hard to get  his piece of the Chi. Starting out writing music, the Chicago native wasted no time getting in front of an audience to build his brand. Debuting his music as early as 2020, Khid Nando is already performing live, collaborating with some of Chicago’s most talented artists, and even picked up on DJing. Since his introduction into music, Nando has released a handful of singles, a couple EP’s and just recently, his debut full length album.

“We are the culture.”

– Khid Nando

Khid Nando makes it seem so effortless and natural how he just moved in on music and onto the stage, and into the local network of artists. Almost 5 years in and he has an impressive catalog of music, showing how he is consistantly at work! If not by writing music and performing live, he is DJing events like the stage is his playground. Connecting with artists on the way, and collaborating with them to make masterpieces, like his most recent project Khilling Time 2.

The full album is a homage and continuation of his second 3 track EP Khilling Time. Number two is a 10 track experience filled with talented features throughout. In it you will hear from artists like Morgan Gold, Weegi Wizers, BSerpa, Carlo Banz, Jamie ULTRA and SOLOCELO. Additionally you will hear a variety of genres blended in together, keeping it fresh through out, and your ears locked onto the music.

The title track and first song of the album gets you on the hook right away. Over a dance beat, Khid Nando and BSerpa infused a hip hop influence, going back and forth between verses. “I like to kill time but I’m puttin in the hours;  putting in the work, so I can gain power.” Nando continues, “Servin these rapperse but I’m not a servant. Want the success, but I gotta earn it.” Nando lyrics indicate a maturity in his process yet confidence in his abilities. The following track, Turn Up The Bass, continues with the same energy using a house beat this time, more uptempo than the last.

Khilling Time 2 Introduction wakes you up in movement and the next 3 tracks locks you in. Solo, brings it back to Hip Hop, Khid Nando’s element, with SOLOCELO, keeping the LP live with the changeup. Right Now and Atraccion really keeps things interesting with an R&B vibe and even bachata, respectively, with hip hop lyricism. Combining genres and languages simultaneously.

Morgan Gold in Right Now balances out the album with some feminine energy. Singing in the chorus, “Let me tell you what it is, a little love is all you need in here right now. Don’t believe in forever girl, I need it right now.” Then Atraccion plays right after with a Bachata beat and it seals the deal on this masterpiece of an album, and its just the first half of Khilling Time 2.

In a short time in his music career, Khid Nando shows a great ability to think outside the box with his music. Not locking himself into one genre, giving himself more creative room to establish a distintive identity for himself. You can hear it in his flow, in his lyrics, the confidence forming into a well tailored and seasoned artist. Like stated before, music seems 2nd nature to Khid Nando.
