From Dance To Song, Downtempbowl Reigns
Probably one of the most ambitious creative women dancing through Chicago. Downtempbowl is more than a connoisseur of movement, as many see her to be on stage at places like Alhambra Palace. On top of her belly dancing, fire twirling, hoop spinning, tut dancing talents, she owns her own business training other potential dancers in the art of movement. She also sells various mushroom products from tinctures to supplements that nourish the body, with her brand Mycochanel! Not stopping there, she even has her hand on the mic, as a Hip Hop and R&B lyricist. Conquering anything she sets her sights on!
Embodying beauty in the mind, sound and body, Downtempbowl stretches her talents to any corner she pleases. Recently delivering to us her debut spotify release, this would also be paired with a music video showcasing her talent in dance. Most of her vocal work being heard on the soundcloud platform. Standing on few dozen releases over a period of about six years. Starting out with remixes, she taps into original production more frequently as time goes on!
As she sharpens her craft on the mic, she begins to work with producers on her own original sound. In comes her latest release, Frente a Mi, roughly translating to “in front of me.” Produced by Thriftworks, the beat is sensual, a light melody progressing over piano chords and light percussion. On the mic Downtempbowl lays out her innermost thoughts! Reflecting on wealth, status and relations, confidently claiming her space and position in life. A physical and vocal poet, she continues to elevate in all fields she steps in.
