Holding Onto Love, WRDS Released Over Time
An artist that turns heads every time he is on the mic. One of Chicagos most talented Latino lyricists. A dozen plus years in the making. With a raw, original flow, he carries his own style, telling stories through his verses. Holding onto 6 Albums, 30+ hit singles, and an EP. WRDS got enough experience to hold veteran emcee status on the mic.
“The Love Don’t Ever Fade, It Just Sharpens Over Time”
-WRDS
Adding onto his large catalog of singles, WRDS drops Over Time, to close out the year in December. A mellow beat, strong on the lyrics reminiscent on a past love. Hinted through his cover art with a heart etched onto his temple. Holding loyalty to memories growing distant, and never replenished. Perhaps more loyal to loves impression, rather than the actual lover. The disconnect is unclear.
“Whole nights feel empty, and the days move slow. ‘Cause The space you used to fill is a place I still go.” WRDS continues, “I still miss you when I rise, I still miss you when I sleep. Every promise that I made is a promise I still keep.” Each line a different metaphor to a pain that lingers from a broken connection. An emcee can only channel this feeling into art, while the listener finds connection in the words that everyone has at one point experienced, providing some solace.
