A Mistake To Overlook Fluorescents
Some of the more talented rising stars out of Chicago. Coming into the scene around 2018, Fluorescents catches the ears of the cities pop punk fans. Consisting of 4 members; Tyler, Bobby, Sasquel & Alex. This quartet has established quite the presence in a short amount of time, in not only the city, but nation wide! Recently finishing a headlining tour through 23 different cities over 26 dates, including St. Louis, Dallas Texas, Denver Colorado, Nashville, Philidelphia LA, DC, NYC, ATL. Selling out a handful of shows for the cherry on top. With all of that, It seems as though they are just starting to tap into their full potential.
Packing heavy with about a dozen EP’s & Singles each. Dropping their debut LP in 2024, with a Deluxe Edition the following year. The Fluorescents are still hot off their Scream At Me Album tour. Keeping their foot on the gas with a few follow up singles and their Can You Feel It EP. Safe to say they had a busy couple of years. Not stopping for anything, they enter 2026 with a hot new single!
Giving the fans what they need, Fluorescents give the people a two in one release. Dropping a new song titled Mistaken, paired with a music video. Some visual and audio stimulation for you senses! Sasquel on the vocals to open up, followed by a build up on the guitar & bass into their main riff. The Drums kick in, and the energy shifts into high gear!
Mistaken’s lyrics follows somewhat a fued with love. “Maybe I’m Mistaken, thinking you’re my baby, when really you’ve been making everything up.” A catchy melodic chorus built on emotional discourse. Closing with, “I can’t fight this feeling I miss your love.” The following verses gets you deeper into the conflict with a detached lover. Balancecd between the chorus, Mistaken ends on a couple of heavy breakdowns, and gutteral vocals, pulling the energy and the tone of the song together.
