Monica Rose Releases As It Is EP & Short Film
One of Chicago’s more eccentric artists, Monica Rose is one of one! With a style and sound unique to her and her only. She has been releasing music for the past three to four years, blessing us with some truly mesmirizing tunes. Monica seems to really be in her element with the amount of creativity and sincere expression she pours into her work. She certainly makes it seem effortless, art may just be flowing through her veins.

To put Monica Rose in any box would not give her talent justice, however, a close descriptor can place her within a range of experimental, alt-indie with a touch of jazz caberet. Meanwhile Monica Rose drops herself in trip-hop, acid jazz category. Whatever it may be, we just know it sounds really good. After waiting for her to re-emerge this year, we are finally treated to some more tunes to get addicted to.
Releasing a music video collab this year following up on a few singles and visuals from 2021, Monica Rose is making some noise once more. Luckily for us all we get a multiple tracks in one drop! Releasing her single called Perhaps, Monica was just preparing us for more to come. Teasing a bigger project for the fall, Miss Rose recently drops As It Is, a four track EP. As if that was not enough, she puts in even more work to pair her project with visuals.
Not just any regular music video, but a short film with each of her four songs as a continous soundtrack. Making this project not just an audio masterpiece, but a visual one as well. Set in a vintage rural setting, as evident by the seemgly small town, clothing, wall paper and appliances, the minimalist concept is quite intriguing. The shots and angles in the video is something to appreciate as well. How Monica Rose makes the mundane tasks and issues of classic American woman, seem so intriguing with her music, is quite a simple beauty in itself and an amazing talent.
