“We could leave this place, freedom ours to chase”

– Hayla

Chicago’s own Kaskade has been in the industry awhile, DJing since late 90’s. Joel Zimmerman joins in late 90’s as well with DJ Funky Dred as House Arrest, then Dred & Karma, Halcyon441 and finally taking up the deadmau5 alias in 05. Kaskade & Mau5 cross paths mid 2k and the rest is history. The two release Move For Me & I Remember featuring Haley Gibby on vocals, both reaching the number one spot on Billboards Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart.

The two would not make another track together for nearly a decade and fans were just aching for another collaboration. Then the two release Beneath With Me in 2016 featuring Skylar Grey on vocals, and all hope was restored. Finally, to start out the 2022 year, the two announce a collaborative project as Kx5, preparing a March release for their debut single, Escape featuring Hayla. To our pleasure, this legendary iconic duo have released another track Take Me High, mid September, last week. The dynamic between the two is apparent, as you can pick out where eachothers influences are in their tracks they create together; whereas Kaskade brings out more techno production, and Deadmau5 adding his signature style in the high and low ends. This revived partnership certainly brings new life and excitement to house music fans, the anticipation for newer releases is something to look forward to.
